An overview of social media use and experiences of hate in Denmark
As part of the STANDBY and Research on Online Political Hostility projects, we analyzed the social media use and related experiences with hateful content of Danes. We invited over 200,000 Danes to participate, and have representative data from over 20,000 people. This makes this one of the largest investigations into experienced hate on social media. The one caveat is that this data relies solely on self report, although we are working on tying it together with actual social media data, as well as Danish registry data.
